The Freedom of Information Act 2014
The Freedom of Information Act 2014 came into effect on 14 October 2014.
The FOI Act provides that from the effective date every person has the following legal rights:
- The right to request access to official information held by a public body.
- The right to a response to their request within 20 working days.
- The right to receive the information in a usable format.
The Freedom of Information Act 2014 set out that people have the right to:
- Request access to official information held by public bodies
- Receive a response to their request within 20 working days
- Receive the information in a usable format
The FOI Act provides that from 21 April 1998 every person has the following legal rights:
- This Act may be cited as the Freedom of Information.
