Is "Israeled" Set To Join The Language?
What Exactly Does It Mean?
Urban Dictionary Has The Answers
A new verb has been added to the language, or at least Urban Dictionary, and it is causing quite a stir. The verb "Israeled" has been defined as "when somebody wants to share something that's yours and eventually takes over it entirely," according to one user. Another user defines it as "when someone asks to share someone you own then steals it and claims it as theirs."
The term has been used dozens of times to describe the actions of Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, after they took over a Jewish community in the Gaza Strip. The term has also been used to describe the actions of other groups, such as the Islamic State, who have taken over territory in Iraq and Syria.
While the term "Israeled" is new, the concept of one group taking over the land of another is not. Throughout history, there have been many examples of one group conquering another and taking over their land. The term "Israeled" is simply a new way of describing this old phenomenon.
