Walz Wins Second Term as Minnesota Governor
Democratic Incumbent Defeats Republican Challenger
Tim Walz, a Democrat, has secured a second term as governor of Minnesota, defeating Republican opponent Scott Jensen in Tuesday's election
Walz, who was first elected in 2018, has made education, healthcare, and climate change priorities during his tenure. He has also been a vocal supporter of reproductive rights and gun control measures.
Jensen, a former state legislator and physician, ran on a platform of lower taxes, less government regulation, and increased school choice.
The race was closely contested, with Walz ultimately winning by a margin of just over 5%. The outcome of the election is seen as a victory for moderate Democrats and a rejection of the Republican Party's far-right agenda.
