Brownsea Island Ferry Closure Announcement

Essential Maintenance to Enhance Visitor Experience

Notice Period: 16 March - 24 May 2023

In order to enhance the visitor experience, Brownsea Island will be temporarily closed for essential maintenance from March 16th to May 24th, 2023. This closure is necessary to ensure the ferry service to the island meets our high standards of safety and reliability.

During this period, visitors will not be able to access the island via the Sandbanks ferry service. National Trust members will continue to enjoy free entrance to Brownsea Island, but they will need to make alternative arrangements for transportation to and from the island.

The closure will allow for critical repairs and upgrades to the ferry infrastructure, including the installation of a new engine and the reinforcement of the ferry deck. These enhancements will significantly improve the safety and efficiency of the ferry service, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for visitors in the future.

We understand that this closure may cause inconvenience to some visitors, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption it may cause.
